Week 2 has come and gone, and I’m in last place. I like it down here because there’s no where to go but up. Unfortunately my distaste for my performance last week makes me not want to look back on it, so here’s an abridged version of the Week 2 Analysis.

John (LifeSentence@GameOvr) vs. Steve O (Africa Is Da Shit)

I was giving John 17 points this week, and obviously didn’t cover the spread. My QBs had good matchups, as Steve C mentioned, but Kitna went down with a concussion, only to make a quote “miracle” return in the 4th quarter to lead my beloved Lions to victory in OT. Roethlischeeseburger didn’t throw for 4 tds again, so that obviously hurt. My #1 receiver now has a whopping 22 yards for the season (hope he likes the taste of bench), and Miami’s D gave me -3.42 points. No one had a really big week for me, and due to the matchups, it wasn’t that big a surprise.

John, on the other hand, performed better than expected. He couldn’t watch his fantasy team’s magic unfold because we was watching his real team fold on Sunday, but when he came back to the comp he saw that much of his team performed better than expected. Not too much else to say here, except John’s defense overall could have performed better. On a positive note, John’s RB’s I rank among the most dangerous in the league.

Bill (BriloPad2Audi?Hmm) vs. Tim (SolarPanel4SexMachin)

Tim was giving Bill 34 points this week, but Bill definitely covered it in what was the closest game of the season so far. And yes, it would have been pretty insane if Tim played John (.01 point difference). Bill, carried by the excellent play of his 2 QBs and 2 RBs (combined score of 150.17 points) overcame a solid week from Tim, who should be scoring a consistent 290 points. Of note is that this game wouldn’t have been close hadn’t Bill’s QBs and RBs scored so well.

Keith (Chris Hansen) vs Nick (I changed my team name in the middle of the game)

I won’t be surprised if this turns out to be the highest-scoring game of the season. Keith has to be upset with his 50-point loss to Nick, who was giving 28 points. Every person on Keith’s team had a solid week, except for Carolina’s defense. Steve Smith showed he is still the best WR in the league, and surprising play from Chambers and Cotchery have to be good news for Keithy Poo.

For Nick, Cadillac finally had his breakout game, Chad Johnson was lucky enough to be thrown to by Carson Palmer, who also handed off to Jamal Lewis, and Andre Johnson is the 4th-best fantasy wideout this year. Although Nick should cool off next week, look for him to be a legit threat down the wire.

Steve C (HasntSeenAVagSinceHS) vs Peitz (CantFitHeadThruDoor)

The Broncos and Steve C have something in common this season, as Steve had another comeback victory this week, but couldn’t beat the spread. Steve’s QBs had a below-average week again, but Randy Moss is quickly turning out to be one of the best value-picks this year. LT and the Chargers struggled again, but shouldn’t be a problem since they faced two extremely good defenses the past two weeks. And say what you will about the Dallas Clark pick, but he’s done very well these first two weeks.

Peitz couldn’t pull this one off even though Joey Galloway had the most offensive points on his team. Not a bad week overall.
